Description

The enhanced digital object display feature shows information about original files and preservation copies that were ingested into Archivematica and then uploaded to AtoM. This includes the Archivematica "ingested" and "normalized" timestamp. This data is read from the Archivematica METS.xml file that is part of the DIP Upload. By default, Archivematica uses UTC for its timestamps whereas AtoM servers are configured to use "local time" (e.g. "America/Vancouver" UTC-7).

This means that for all AtoM servers that are not in the UTC timezone, the timestamps shown for the Archivematica original and preservation copy will be out of sync with the ones shown for the AtoM digital object upload timestamp.

To fix this, the AtoM DIP Upload process should parse the "ingested" and "normalized" timestamps it reads from Archivematica's METS.xml and adjust them to match the AtoM server's local time before saving these values to the AtoM database.

After further discussion it was decided to save the Archivematica timestamps in their original UTC format and convert them to the AtoM server's local time when they are retrieved and displayed in a template.
