EAD import creates reference code errors by duplicating repository code

Added by Dan Gillean almost 10 years ago. Updated over 9 years ago.

Target version:Release 1.3
Google Code Legacy ID:atom-2352 Tested version:
Sponsored: Requires documentation:

To reproduce this error: ========================
1)Import or create a new fonds-level information object linked to a repository (with a reference code included for the repository)
2)Export the information object in EAD, and then delete the information object (fonds).
3)Re-import the information object

Resulting error: ================
Reference code for the information object is doubled upon import (see attached images

Expected result: ================
Reference code appears only once, in the same form it did before exporting and re-importing.

Due do this reference code duplication problem, if a user changes the country code and/or identifier of the related repository, only part of the duplicated reference code is changed - see example below:

Reference code: CA CVA Mss. 1 [proper behaviour]
Reference code (after repository change): USA CoV Mss. 1 [proper behaviour]

Duplicated reference code: CA CVA CA CVA Mss. 1 [current issue]
Duplicated reference code (after repository change): USA CoV CA CVA Mss. 1 [additional behaviour related to current issue]

I haven't tested with the issue of a changed repository code, but I think this works correctly if you disable the inheritance before exporting.

Tim is correct. If the inheritance is disabled prior to importing the archival description as EAD.XML the reference code will not duplicate.
