Description

To Reproduce
  • Navigate to Browse > Archival descriptions
  • View the filters on the left hand side for repositories
  • Select the repository filter for "Archives nationales du Québec - Montréal," which claims to have 1067 results

Resulting Error
Filter returns 0 results

Expected result
Browse screen for 1067 archival descriptions from BAnQ - Montreal

Notes
The same appears to be true for:
  • Université Laval - AFEUL (710 descriptions)
  • Séminaire St-Joseph (665 descriptions)
Further, it's clear that some linking is going on, it's just not showing up everywhere, including on the repository page:
  • Go to advanced search, and filter by repository: Archives nationales du Québec - Montréal
  • Note that 1067 results are returned
  • select a result and go to the showscreen - note that there is a link to the repository present on the archival description
  • Click on the link to the institution - note that no holdings are listed on the repository page

Ultimately, it turns out that this is not a bug, but a result of a decision in AtoM to manage different cultures differently than in 1.x. In the use case described in the issue ticket, the descriptions were in French, and were not visible when the culture was set to English. This functionality will be unclear to users without further alterations to the user interface, but the behaviour is in fact as expected. Currently the plan is to implement different culture options as facets/search filters, so that users will have the ability to limit the results to a single language, and/or view all records easily. As such, if a situation like the one described in the issue ticket above is encountered, the user would be presented with results that include an English filter, which could easily be removed to view all results.

Marking this issue as invalid, and filing the enhancements for usability as separate tickets, which will be related to this issue.
