Description

AtoM 2.0 introduces the ability for users to upload institutional logos - these logos appear on all related archival description view pages.

However, a great number of logos used by institutions do not include the (full) name of the institution, making it hard to determine at a glance what repository the description is linked.

This feature would add a simple tooltip or hover menu, similar to the one used when titles are truncated in the treeview, that would display the full name of the institution.

Ideally, it might also present the following fields:
  • Type: (international, national, community, university, government, etc.)
  • Region: (province/state)

I like it - I'd been wondering about that very thing.

Maybe this should be filed separately, but I would suggest expanding this to the institutional logos on the repository browse page. In that case the tooltip would only be needed if the text at the bottom of the logo is truncated (similar to the treeview).
