In 1.x, any user (authenticated or not) can check the last updated date of descriptions, name authorities, etc.
In 2.x, this doesn't seem possible except for in the description updates section, which doesn't allow you to look up dates for a particular record.
I would suggest adding at least the revision date to somewhere in the edit view - e.g. for descriptions, the administration area might work.

The dates on the archival description look good. My suggestion for institutions and authority records: What about adding the same field (i.e. auto-populated, non-editable) in the Description control area, right below the "Dates of creation, revision and deletion" field? That way a user can add free text to the Dates of creation, revision etc field if they want to capture information about a change in the description, but the most recent revision date is still available for viewing even if it is not recorded formally by an editor/admin etc.
Tim, any thoughts on this?
In the future, if we have the opportunity to develop with with the Description updats/newest additions page, I think it would be interesting to capture the user who made the change, and make that visible only to administrators - we can then offer the ability to filter updates by user in description updates for admins so they have a more powerful and precise tool for monitoring revisions, etc. Incorporating the information now into the templates as we are will allow us to consider future development.
