discrepancy between "browse xx holdings" link and actual browse page
|Google Code Legacy ID:||Tested version:|
I couldn't find an issue for the proposal to add a facet to limit to top level descriptions:
but this is related.
Currently in 2.x, there is a discrepancy between the count of holdings on the institution's page, and the actual number of descriptions available from the browse page. The institution page seems to limit to top-level descriptions. E.g. for York:
309 holdings is consistent with 306 fonds and 3 collections, but when you follow the link you get 338 holdings:
More dramatic if you have more extensive lower level descriptions.
I don't have a handy public example, but a side effect is that if the institution has 10 or fewer holdings, you don't get a link to the full browse of all levels.

Thanks for the reminder, Tim - I've filed the Top-level descriptions feature request for 2.1 under issue #5966.
I will relate it to this issue, for reference.
Tim, see also #5614 and #5135 for tickets that relate to improving the institutional holdings list. I will also relate this ticket to #5614, for reference, as we should address this problem during the redesign.
We may want to make the "Top-level descriptions" filter apply on-load when browsing all the holdings of a specific repository, as we will do for the Browse > Archival descriptions page.
