Description
Example in carousel: http://archivescanada.accesstomemory.org/charles-bibby
Example of same image in search/browse results: http://archivescanada.accesstomemory.org/search?query=dixon&repos=70093
First reported by CVA. While I feel that the search/browse results, in offering a preview rather than a full digital object image, work okay with the cropping, the images in the carousel look terrible when cropped - when viewing photographic collections, for example, it can result in the heads being lopped off the carousel thumbnails.
Ideally, we can test different solutions to see whether the thumbnail can be resized to better fit the row/carousel, or if the row might have a max/min width in which it can resize to accommodate the thumbnail.
When addressing this, we should also consider previous feature development discussion we have had about using a different slider/carousel to resolve other outstanding presentation and usability issues with the current "cover flow" style carousel.
