Description

The preservation masters of digital files (e.g. AIPs) will be maintained in
the /archivalstorage component. Upon uploading digital files, Qubit should
only generate access derivatives. It should however, maintain a link to the
location of the master in /archivalstorage

  • Subject set to Process AIP/DIPs submitted to Qubit

archivematica will send Qubit DIPs (digital object & metadata). Qubit needs to have
an import mapping to receive and properly store these uploads.

Need to decide on:
1)the format of the upload (likely a METS XML file with embedded or XLINK attached
digital objects)
2)whether to create access derivatives prior to upload to avoid moving large files
over http
3)see whether SWORD protocol can be applied

  • Status changed from New to Verified

Fixed in 0.6 - Access copies are prepared during prepareAIP and a separate DIP is
created; when the DIP is moved into uploadDIP the access copies are uploaded
automatically into Qubit.
