Description

It'd be nice to enhance this feature to make the information more useful. Currently it's very bare bones. Summarizing overall import time, peak memory usage, and memory usage / time elapsed on a per file basis would be ideal.

I pushed this to the main repo. Screenshot of the --output's output after an import here: http://imgur.com/RdcBMEW

  • Tested version 2.1 added

Nice! Tested and it works.

Now includes headers (File, Time elapsed, and Memory used) as well as summary information at the bottom (Total time elapsed; Peak memory usage). The File gives a path and name for each XML file imported. The Time elapsed and Memory used columns included units (s for seconds in Time elapsed; B for bytes in Memory used column). Peak memory usage was in MB.

Adding basic documentation for this feature since it has not yet been documented in 2.x at all, for anyone watching this ticket.

Use the following to see basic help on the import:bulk options:

php symfony help import:bulk

The --output option requires that you specify both a path and a file name for the CSV file to be output, e.g.:

php symfony import:bulk --output="/path/to/import-log.csv" /path/to/myEADFolder

...where /path/to/myEADfolder points the bulk import task to the location of the XML files that you want to import.

the CSV that is output with this options will look something like this:

These instructions will be added to the 2.1 docs as soon as we version them.
