Description
Currently, the two standard options in AtoM for sorting are present on the accessions browse page: Alphabetic, and Most recent. However, their behaviors are not intuitive:
- Alphabetic sorts on the Accession number, not the Title of the accession as one might expect
- Most recent sorts on an Updated column that is not visible when sorting alphabetically
This feature proposal would better clarify and standardize existing options, and add a new sort option. The sort options would be:
- Accession number
- Most recent
- Title
Most recent would stay the same; accession number and title would be alpha-sorted. The labels used in the sort-by dropdown would ideally be just as they are above.
If it weren't difficult to add, it would also be nice to be able to sort by Acquisition date as well.

Documentation: a quick update here would be good, in the 2.2 brach: https://accesstomemory.org/en/docs/2.1/user-manual/access-content/navigate/#recurring-sort-button
(currently it neglects to mention that there is a sort button on the accessions page anyway)

Merged in qa/2.2.x. I think the search index needs to be updated.

Hi Dave H, can you please look into this? I've created a corresponding task in Asana.

Hi Dan, I've re-indexed http://qa-22x.test.artefactual.com ; are you the man to review it?
Cheers,
